How much longer can the US survive?

With the federal debt about to go up to $9 trillion, little to no investment in infrastructure, eliminating jobs with good wages, drastic increases in health care and housing, a bloated military budget, and being engaged in endless and expensive wars how much longer can the US survive until it collapses?

  1. Half of us wonder that too and are sitting in the corner biting our fingernails waiting for the collapse. The other half is in denial and has complete faith in the current administration.
  2. It won't be long
  3. With the intellectual deficiencies and the prevailing tides of bigotry and religious fanaticism which can be fully appreciated in Yahoo Answers, I an afraid not too long !
  4. I was asking the same question near the end of Bush Sr's term... things are worse now, than they were then, but I have faith that a good leader can turn things around.... there could be problems if a good leader isn't elected...
  5. all empires fade...ours is no different. we're financially bankrupt, morally defficient, militarily thinly spread, and are losing industry daily. but we do make a mean burger and serve them with great fries...maybe that'll help some
  6. i'd say it can last for possibly 20-30 more years. i plan on living in canada by then
  7. If you believe in doom and gloom - then believe this...if the time comes to turn out the lights, an American will be at the switch.
  8. Depends...if we just elect democrats the days will be numbered, more Republicans, many years to come.
