General information about being an Air Force Mail Tech?

I've just been looking through federal jobs on the US job site and came across one for an Air Force Mail Tech. I was looking into becoming a USPS mailman but can't find any test availability near to me. I'm interested in the Mail Tech job but was just looking to see if anyone had any insight on it. For one, they give a wide range of pay, if anyone could narrow it in for me that would be great. Also, do they function mostly as a mailman would? If I worked in another country would I live on the base? Is housing provided? Basically just any information would be great, I'll try to research it further online but figured someone with personal experience as or around this post may be able to help. Thanks

  1. The ad should have had a point of contact. Ask that person about it, because they will provide the most accurate information.
  2. For the best info on Air Force jobs talk to a recruiter. DON"T sign anything unless you have all the info you want and are sure you are getting the exact job you want. My son and daughter-in-law are both Air Force lifers and they love it!
  3. You are able to get stationed in cool places you wouldn't normally expect the AF to be at. My friend got a gig in Madrid checking air mail
