Why is it so hard to qualify for Government employment?

I have applied for jobs to find out I was qualified, The next time I apply I am not qualified, The same Job and requirements?

1. Because they get thousands applying for jobs throughout the country.
2. Yes, due to so many applicants applying for the same job as the word is out about how great the benefits are to actually be a government employee.
3. I work for the Federal Goverment. The process takes a long time but it was not hard. The security check, and background check, and fingerprints, where a headache but other than that it was a snap. What position are you applying for and in what state. Have you went to usajobs.com or goverment jobs. com (it's either dot com or dot gov) Apply online, follow up often, and wait. I waited 3months from the time I put my application in and another 3months to actually get hired. Good Luck
