Should I find a new job?
I have been at my job 12 years. It is a large federal institution and I work as a registered nurse. I am finishing my Masters in Nursing with a MBA and thought up until recently that I had the support of my manager and my place of employment. Lately, I have found a sheer lack of involvement. No one is asking what I would like to do with my degree (I currently work in critical care). I am bored with my job, I have been doing it too long and currently I am not utilized in any greater capacity. The money I make is good. The benefits good. But the respect and enthusiasm is not there. I am in a dead end place. Eight more years and I would have been able to have retirement benefits.. Now what? Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

- Look for another job or apply for openings where you are at. No one can fault you for trying to improve yourself, if something better comes along and you get an offer leave. Even if your employee makes a counteroffer, leave, they should have done it before you got another job and they usually do that just to keep the position filled until they find someone else.
- Well, I would think about moving on but then again what you are facing now the possiblity of you facing it also elsewhere... If you need a change of pace ask your managers if you could try another field related job... But the option to stay or go is always yours good luck
- Look for a new job concerning your new degrees ..life is changing every moment..so y can't u..go n live life with new excitements
- You have 8 more years before you become a Vested employee why jeopardize that? Start checking around in other depts if you can and see where you will be able to fit in. If the insitution is as large as you say I wouldn't leave it I would simply transfer depts or facility. Think about this. Why would your manager have any interest in your ambitions? After you get your degree you may pose a threat for this person.
