  1. Check USA jobs.com. Or network with the civillians in the departments where you want to be. The best way to get into somwhere is to know somone.
  2. u can always become a teacher no matter what state ur in we can never have too many
  3. Look at Federal Government web site. It has many listing available. It is one of the places I have been looking at to find new employment. (non military underemployed person) http://www.usajobs.gov/ Good Luck
  4. What was your MOS in the military? Email me or IM me. Maybe I can help. Always looking to lend assitance to a fellow vet.
  5. There's a good chance that there are civilians in your unit. Perhaps you can ask them for this kind of advice. You haven't noted what your career speciality is, but don't hold yourself just to federal opportunities. There may be a need for you somewhere else in your community. Research what you can on how to create a good resume, and begin to post it on places like monster and careerbuilder.
  6. Have you tried a headhunter? They get paid by the hiring company for the service...you pay nothing. Some companies even specialize in transitioning military (try the Lucas Group). They are great about discussing your qualifications and helping find the job that fits you. They also provide resume help, help 'sell' you to a prospective employer, and help negotiate your salary and benefits.
