Do you think that a having a contract job in the government of canada can lead to permanent?

Please help. for those who know how job offer work in the government. if someone has a contract say 12 months. it there any chance that that job can be permanent one day or are they going to dump you after 12 months. please share your experience as I don't want to live my current job with a private employer. If I do it it will be for a more chance of having a permanent job in the government. thanks

  1. I'm not aware of contractors being "given" permanent (indeterminate) jobs with the federal government. Getting a permanent job with the government usually requires applying and going through the competition process (written exams, interviews, etc).
