I heard Oral Roberts is in prison in California for his $8 million scam job in 1987 is that true?

We who know the news, know he told his TV audience God would "take him home" if he did not get his followers to come up with that much money. Anyone in their right mind should have seen the scam in that counterfeit clergyman and not send him anything at all but people did send him money. So might what I heard be true? And if other clergy are just like him and in it just for the money, can the nations unite against those heartless greedy con men? By, may be taxing them as a business since they are no more than a counterfeit religion in truth which should not have the tax rights of a religion? And give that money back to the people? Our the global governments use it wisely for their peoples real needs? Might be the national leaders can give real teeth to the United Nations for the first time in its 61 years in October on the 24th? Might that bring some kind of peace and security if we did not have dishonest clergy in the money making business but still have freedom for the honest ones? Might giving teeth to the U.N. be a good idea since it is set up to fix world needs? And if it was given real POWER TEETH might the job get done in truth? Think about it! Think positive not negative or things will just stay the same year after year! People like this idea! Might unite the people behind it yet! Think of the money saved and lives too? Has your paid clergy shown you in Revelation 17:16,17 the beast in the U.N. and scam religion is Babylon the Great and go there and notice what the king give the U.N. beast to do what to that greedy kind of religion! That will for real HAPPEN! SOON! If what I heard is true or not it is the right question to get good action from those at Yahoo Answers. Hope it keeps going!

I heard that he was in hospital for old age he's to old to care one way or the other about prison .Just don't think so

I have not heard anything on this, tho I wish it were true, I also wish that all televagelists would lose their broadcasting licenses. But if wishes were corvets, I would have a nice ride.
Lets hope so. For all our sakes. Jesus would be mad about someone taking money from poor people and lying about it. When God does "call him home" he will be in for a surprise.
I don't think he is in jail, although he should be for conning so many trusting people out of their money. However, Oral is another big scam artist, with his preaching that God wants you to be wealthy -- IF you send money to Oral. See below for more about his fraudulent activities. If memory serves, it was Jimmy Bakker that went to prison and it was Pat Robertson that pulled the Money or Else Scheme.

Oh c'mon I hate to break it to you, but some televangelsts do not and never had a monopoly on out of control budgets... many nations and governments got the same problem and are way up in the lead in the end your kinda throwing the baby out with the bath water true religion brings peace and security form the Prince of Peace I think some people let the pressures of ministry finding get the best of them sadly and they end up not modeling the virtues they should

Surly, you don't think Oral Roberts is done? He is far from being out of the Ministry. He trained a man real well to take his place. His name is Benny Hinn. Benny Hinn, has been on Oral Roberts Board of Directors at O.R.U. for 19 years. You think Benny just happened to Pop* up? .It's a shame that Oral Roberts has this tremendous "healing" power, with he has a multi multi million dollar Hospital complex. People are dying everyday of every week there. How is it, he doesn't heal these people for FREE with his "power", but, yet takes zillions of Ins. dollars for treatment and they still die? The man has power to heal...or he doesn't. Bottom line. .
