  1. Seeing how Bush is still Prez I believe so.... unfortunately...
  2. It's up to the state and local governments before FEMA steps in. The way it should've been in N.O.. It seems like the state and local governments are on top of this wildfire situation as best they can be from the start.
  3. It's not the federal government's responsibility, it's the state's responsibility. When the state asks for assistance, then the federal government will step in. That's the way it works, that's the law, and that's what happened during Katrina. Duh.
  4. Let's see how well the governor handles this. The people certainly are making the smart move and EVACUATING as they are told to do.
  5. The Federal government is already ahead of the requirement and the expectation curve. The result of an organized, approachable local government. Unlike Ray Nagin who's approach to communicating conditions on the ground amounted to dialing up a radio call in show as soon as he found a phone that would work and demanding that some one else "get off their a s s and do something" Things go a little smoother when the point of contact on the scene actually has a brain. Edit: A thumbs down, how interesting. I wonder if that hack could list the contingencies put in place by the city of New Orleans?
  6. The governor of Cal. has already asked for help and he is getting it . Unlike the governor of Louisiana who set back and played politics with the safety of the people of her state.
