Would your US salary be taxed if you work in europe for more than one year?
We are considering applying for US government jobs in Europe. We would like to know if the salary would be tax free if the position required a stay of more than one year. When I worked for another firm they had assignments in Saudi Arabia, if your assignment lasted for more than a year your salary was tax free. Is this true today for Europe.

- Yes it should be. However, the taxes are still withheld, in escrow, pending you actually not stepping on US soil. After the one year, those funds are released to you.
