Registered Nursing Jobs in South Carolina/Georgia?

I am graduating from nursing school as an RN in December (from Texas). I am looking to relocate to Augusta, GA/Aiken, SC area with my military boyfriend (who is already there). I have been having a hard time finding a job. I would actually prefer an internship. I do know that I can work at any federal establishment, but they all seem to want one year of experience. I looked into the Aiken Regional Medical Center, but no response or information on their internship program. Do you guys have any suggestions?

  1. Keep looking. There is an extreme shortage of nursing jobs in the US right now. Many nurses are struggling to find work, especially new grads.Good luck.
  2. Keep trying. It took me 8 months to find a job as a new RN. I graduated in December of last year. You need to be open to anything. Its is really bad nation wide. You cannot just pick and choose where you will start out in the present market. Get a job somewhere for experience and go somewhere else 6 months to a year later. Apply at hospitals, doctors offices, and Nursing homes to try and get experience some where. You have got to get your foot in the door. Also, try to see if you can volunteer somewhere at maybe the health unit or a hospital somewhere. You HAVE to be open to a rough commute. I had to move two hours away for work. GoodLuck
