Whats the best FREE tax return filing software for NC/Federal tax?
I am 21, had a job the past 6 months, totalling around $500 in Federal/State tax taken from my income. I am single so thats my filing status. Went on the NC tax website and of course the lazy f***ers(must be run by DMV people) did not have the tax software links up yet. I want to file both my State and Federal at the same time. What software thats FREE should I use so I can get my return ASAp. Thanks

- You can use Turbo Tax.
- If you go to www.irs.gov and look for the free efile link, it will take you to a page that lists all the companies that will let you file federal and some state returns for free, if you meet the criteria. I know H&R Block will file NC and Fed for free if your income is under a certain amount. You will not be able to efile NC for a while yet, but you can at least get your return done.
