Can you confirm any arbitration award in federal court?

In the United States, the Arbitration Act of 1925 is a federal statute. I understand that federal courts have jurisdiction to hear a case, regardless of any diversity of citizenship, or the amount in dispute, if the case asks a federal question. Case in point: Employment discrimination. So, since the Arbitration Act is a federal law, can an arbitration award be confirmed in federal court, even if the case would have been referred to state court, if it had been litigated? Also, can you provide a reliable source?

  1. This is not a question that you should be getting answered in this sort of forum. By way of free resources, http://scholar.google.com (cases) and http://www.law.cornell.edu (statutes) are good resources, but a lawyer who relies on those to the exclusion of the more rigorous paid databases or at least books in a law library could be committing malpractice. This is not a simple question and if you want a good answer, you should consult a lawyer.
