Federal government background check?
A question for tentative federal job offer: I am an immigrant, for the first two years in USA, I had a very low paid job. Employer did not do the W2 form for me(you know that, in this country, a lot of legal immigrant do not have W2(besides those illegal immigrants), and I did not file 1040 form. But I put down that in my work experience, is it bother for background check? What do they do on the investigation? If they check my first two years in USA, no record will be found. I made a little cash during those two years, and I did NOT file 1040, partly because then I did not know much about the tax filing, partly because it is little cash income, for no dependent single, it makes no big different whether filing or not. Thanks.
