Can you collect both a disability retirement AND social security disability at the same time?
A friend is retiring at age 54 on a disability from a federal job. He has also applied for social security disability. If he can get both, which one would be adjusted and how would that work?

- The Soc. Sec. disability, if it is allowed, will be reduced by the amount of his other disability/retirement amount.
