im in the usmc and higher wants to send me to soi, im currently in college and will lose all financial aid?
I dont want go and I am wondering what kind of discharge i will get if i opt out and refuse to go. I am a reservist and was labeled excess and need to retrain. Also how will the discharge affect my ability to get a federal job (ie us marshal, customs, etc), will i be able to explain my situation to employers the higher would be the CO of the unit and what kind of discharges would i be looking at?

- You do not have the ability to refuse to go. If you actually told them, " im not going " then you will never get a federal law enforcement job. Your best bet, is to just request a discharge from the reserves. You cannot stay in the reserves with no job, you have to retrain .
- You get what you earn. And just because you refuse to train, does not mean you will get discharged. You first will get busted and then maybe you will eventually get kicked out in a negative fashion.. And who exactly is this "higher" person?
