How to get into government in Canada?
I wish to work in the public services in Ontario,Canada for research, or analyst jobs. I was wondering if doing temporary work in the government is a good stepping stone to get into the government even if the position/ deparment is not what I wanted. Should I just work for private company for related jobs/field before trying another around of applying? Or should I just take the first government job offered even it is not related to my position that I wanted such as doing customer service or as a software tester?

- I can tell you from personal experience it's very difficult to get a government job because many people apply for it and usually require max amount of experience that is depending on job type. Well as for temporary job, my sister work for government in Ontario for 6 years until they decided to layoff some people and usually temporary workers are the first to go. Private company can help you gain the experience which could help you get hired later. If I were you, try to apply for government and private then pick which ever comes first, you can always keep applying for government while working at your current job. That's what I am doing now, but so fare no luck. But you never know maybe your job position be different. Good luck
