Question about government jobs and background checks?

I am wondering what will show up on a background check for a state or federal job. Long story short, I was a freshman in college, got drunk, then taken to detox for 36 hours and released. I also got a underage drinking citation for it. 1. If you were charged and convicted of a crime, yes it will show up on your background check.
2. If you have charges pending a hearing they will not show up until a conviction is issued.
