- Go to your local library and there are several reference books. You can't take them out but you'll find everything that you want to know. jw
- Here you go http://www.acas.org.uk/
- Under United Kingdom law, specifically section 95(1) if the Employment Rights Act 1996, three events can constitute "Dismissal". look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_law and here: http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/Labour_and_employment_law
- Try your local branch of ACAS. They arbitrate on employee/employer disputes. They can offer advice based on your circumstances and give advice on whether your grievance is worth pursuing and if necessary start procedures that you may want to take. (UK only)
- ACAS. They're absolutely brilliant. There's lots of advice on their site, and they're really good about giving advice on the telephone. They helped me out in the same situation. Good luck with it.
- Try www.direct.gov.uk Really useful site for all sorts of things, especially rights for employees, and simple to understand.
