What branch of the US Federal Government does USCP (United States Capital Police) fall under?

Hi all! What branch of the US Federal Government does USCP (United States Capital Police) fall under? Do they fall under the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, etc. Is USCP a prestigious law enforcement US Federal Government career job? Also, is their registration exam and overall application process really hard to get through? I would think that it is. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks!

  1. It's under the U.S. Congress, along with the Library of Congress police, Sergeant of Arms of the Senate and Sergeant of Arms of the House of Representatives. Like any law enforcement agency, it would be an honor to work for it. They send their recruits to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA so I would think it would be a difficult regiment.
