Do state governments sponsor your H1B Visa for employment?
Do or can state and local governments in the U.S. sponsor H1B work visa for employment for legal residents? Update: I'm asking for facts with citations not opinions. So asking me what I believe is moot.

- No, are you kidding? With MILLIONS of Americans out of work do you honestly believe a State or Local Government would offer a job to a foreigner with tax payer money as a salary?
- I never heard State or Federal Govt Sponsoring H1 ,only contracting companies can send H1B employees to work on projects for state/Federal only after getting clearance.
- H1B visas are for non-immigrants not legal residents. However, state agencies can hire non-immigrants on H1B visas if they so choose.
