Second. California is like the 6th or 7th largest economy in the world. It's the only state keeping this nation afloat. So be careful when you say s--t: like Mexicans are holding California down. It's the rest of the nation that's holding California down--ergo white people. California matters because if it were to fall, so will the rest of the nation's economy, followed there after by the world economy. Just be thankful that there is no secessionist sentiment in CA like there is in Alaska. Half of the American military is in California, if there were secessionists here, California would win. Third. The recall election was an obscure piece of BS legislation perpetrated by Darrel Issa. It only works on the Governor, not the rest of the legislators. It also costs a lot of money/procedure to institute a recall election. Money that Calif. doesn't have. So no citizens are going to be authorizing any recall elections when the budget for such shenanigans is non-existent. Gray Davis' recall was idiotic and based on a lie. You have those Texas retards at Enron to thank for that. Last time I checked, nobody was willing to give those bastards a pat on the back for a job well done. They're to blame for California's current economic woes, not Davis. Had they not destabilized an entire State's economy with their greed, it wouldn't be in this situation. EDIT: California is in a severe crisis, consequently the nation. Southern California runs the risk of rationing water this summer because there is no infrastructure for water--it's all imported from Colorado. If you idiot Republicans think that it's good that So Cal is thirsty, and it's somehow punishing the liberals... Think again, the most conservative portions of California are the ones that'll suffer--San Diego, San Bernardino, and all the dessert communities. California's levies are also severely unmaintained. In the event of failure from an earthwuake, kiss this nation's food supply good bye. You will all starve, too. California also needs the funding to help with building clean power sources, seeing as it has little to no power plants to begin with.
Another riduclous question from somebody who isn't even FROM California. Do me a favor and worry about your own state. And when it's completely broke, has over 250,000 employees that are sucking up funds from schools, and you're $40 billion in the red, then we can talk.

Somebody with some sense has to intervene. The state government of California is nearly bankrupt. Something's got to give. Better to trim the fat than to let the entire state go under. If a few Republicans in Washington, D.C. has the balls the California guy has, we wouldn't be flushing nearly a trillion dollars down the toilet on federal government spending that is NOT going to "stimulate" anything except the national deficit, which the Dems have whined about for the past eight years. Suddenly it's ok to have our children's children saddled with the national deficit because a dimwitted Democrat thinks it's a good idea? Give me a break. Republicans in California want to keep taxes where they are (already too high) so that business companies would not flee, and consequently jobs will be saved. As to 20,000 goverment employees would lose their sinecures, I cannot care less.
Apparently they think it will help. Republican politicians are selfish people and their only interests are serving the rich. It's the Republicans in this state that got us into this mess. They think tax cuts are the solution to all our problems.

California Republicans are probably the most liberal and progressive group of republicans you'll find. I'd quit crying about it, people are losing jobs all over the country, the economy's in the toilet, stocks are going down, and it's happening everywhere.

There are probably 20,000 too many government workers in CA anyway. Get a clue as to what the problem is with California. Democrats spent too much, illegals are draining the resources, etc. Those are some of the real issues.
I live in Ca. land of the pork (its our not so mentioned often enough state motto). Our (hardly) Republican Governor does not like pork, so the budget won't pass. The Democrats will have to stop spending millions of tax dollars on whale watching grants and the like in order for it to pass.
