Is my employer required to pay me the federal or state wage?
If my employer is contracted out for a state or federal job, and I am sent out to do the work, is my employer required to pay me the higher state or federal wage that they are receiving for the work?

- No, they are not required to pay you what they are receiving under the contract. They can pay you whatever they want, subject to both federal and state minimum wage laws of course.
- Depends on the contract. Many government contracts contain "prevailing wage" clauses that specify what wages must be paid to workers on the contract. If the contract your employer signed has such a clause, you are entitled to that pay scale. Richard
