what government jobs can i get as a permanent resident?

I just got my green card, and I would like to work for the government. I have two degrees, and speak seven languages. Thank you.

  1. You should start applying. Language skills are always needed for the government and from the military. Trying applying for the FBI or join the US military as a translator.
  2. You need to nail that down somewhat. There are a million jobs that you can get within the government. Some jobs require clearances but not all. You might consider working for a government contractor and working your way in to the government itself. What languages do you speak and what is your actual proficiency? I am utterly fluent (read, write, speak) in many. But there are many that I can sit down and have a conversation but I could not write a decent thesis paper for the life of me. Spanish will not cut it alone. But you have that same mind bent as I do and that means your brain works a certain way. It means you also are good at figuring out things as that all comes hand in hand. Point is I noted you screen name is Ivana. You will do well if you research and apply everywhere. Consider the military as well.
