how long do you have after being fired from a job to apply for unemployment?
it was a federal job at the post office when is the latest can u apply for it? is it 18 months or what?

- Since eligibility for unemployment usually includes a look at what your wages were over the past 6-12 months, that would be a practical limit. If you hadn't worked for 18 months, you wouldn't be eligible. Why wouldn't you apply right away?
