Computer expert Prashant Chopra pleads in child sex sting Posted by Maggi Martin July 30, 2008 15:42PM Categories: Breaking News Cleveland -- A computer technology expert who helped program local college computers pleaded guilty on Wednesday for trying to arrange sex with a 12-year old girl. Prashant Chopra, 30, of Cleveland Heights, pleaded guilty in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court to three counts of importuning and one attempted abduction. He remains free on a $250,000 bond but had to forfeit his 2006 Mercedes that he drove in to meet the girl. His computers were seized by police. Ryan Miday, a spokesman for the Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office, said Chopra began chatting with a person he thought was a 12-year-old girl last July. The 12-year-old was actually an undercover police officer in the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Chopra drove in his Mercedes to meet the girl for sex and was arrested in September. Chopra, who lives in a $1 million mansion, worked as an Internet technology consultant at CampusEAI Consortium which helps universities and governments incorporate the latest Internet technologies.
