I need to write a cheque for another country! Help?
Hi I am from the U.K but I need a police check from Australia to cover an extended period of time that I spent there. The police check is in regard to a job application that I have made over here. The Australian Federal Police have told me that they can do the reference, but I need to pay via personal cheque from an Australian bank account. They dont do credit cards etc. How on earth do I solve this?!

- LMAO! I thought you were writing a cheque out to a country!
- It is very simple, you visit your bank and the bank issue for you Bank guaranteed check based on international agreements. This check could be than send by your bank directly to the agency or you can this check directly to you. You have to provide enough information about beneficiary to your bank to protect you for misusing. Checks at this date are history behind us, you can make direct wire to the account and provide official document from your bank as a copy of the payment.
- If you don't have an Australian bank account you can't do it because they asked for a personal cheque, which means drawn on an account in your own name. See if they would accept an International Draft, which is a cheque you can get your UK bank to issue for you in Australian Dollars. Alternatively (& quicker) ask if they would accept an International Money Mover payment, although you would need all of their banking details to do this. However it would have the facility to show you as the sender.
