Public Comments

  1. the 14th amendment of the constitution prohibits discrimination on basis of race, creed, color, or religion by the us government. 42 USC 1983 makes the 14th amendment and other federal rights applicable at state level. there are several federal laws regarding discrimination based on disability. the most comprehensive one is probably the ADA, americans with disabilities act.i a good overview is provided at the eeoc website. justs google.
  2. You know, everything that crackedpot stated is true. However, back between 1998-2000 when I was working for the US Census as a Recruiting Assistant, my boss refused to allow me to try to get some of the homeless veterans a job who lived at the local VA hospital. She was "concerned" that we may have to accommodate some of the vets for possibly having missing limbs to have a job. I kidded you not!
