What jobs can I hope to find with a B.S. in Economics and minors in Finance and International Affairs?
I will graduate in May '10 from Georgia Tech, but am just wondering what job prospects are out there for my major and minor combination. Is being a part of a Big 4 possible, if not, what else is out there for me? My current GPA is a 3.24. (3.0 is Dean's List at this Institution) I'm really hoping that my GPA won't hold me back. Am I destined to work in some government cubicle or is there real world application hiding in my degree awaiting the corporate world? Thanks for your time and advice!

- Mc Donald's is always hiring
- As a recent Econ major with a 4.0 in all coursework... and unemployed, It's not what you know, it's who you know. Get out there and make some contacts! I have been looking for awhile, but recently have some friends trying to hook me up. Or become a financial planner.
- I have a degree from UCLA in Economics. This economy is crap and its a VERY bad time to graduate. My first 2 years out of school were great and I made a boatload of money but over the last 18 months I've taken a 60% pay cut and work in a miserable cube. Good Luck.
- I graduated in December 2004 (with a 3.8 GPA) bachelor's in Accounting. I've found that any degree in business, finance, or accounting can open up the job market for you considerably. Maybe other people have different opinions, but it didn't seem like my GPA made that much of a difference... The degree itself seemed to get me a certain level of interest, but I had to earn it from there. By the way, I'm a staff accountant at a foundry supply company (yeah, I didn't know what a foundry was until I worked here!) and I absolutely love my job. :)
- If I was you, I would look to join the staff of a company in China, learn the language, get immersed in the their culture, and have a blast. That country's economy is exploding and will continue to do so for years. If you get in now, the sky's the limit for you.
