When should an individual should start applying for the federal government jobs?
I graduate in Dec. and I really want to get a job with the Federal Government upon graduation. I know that it is a long process with security clerance and everything but when should I start to possibly gain employment after graduating.

- Start applying now for any job you are qualified for, unless the job says that the start date is immediate or well before your graduation date.
- Have you considered a student internship/work study program as a student? www.thejobpage.gov is the federal website - this would be a great start, whether you stayed in that agency or used it as a stepping stone. www.usajobs.gov is the federal website for all gov't jobs - start now, get registered and familiar with the questions/answers they will be looking for. You can always practice with any announcement, just don't submit your application. Being a college graduate sometimes is enough, sometimes they want more. A master's degree is required for GS-9 and up, or you work your way up. Good luck...
