Fema Employment

If I believe that I should get unemployment?

I left my job in california because my ex hus dissapeared left me with two kids, and as a result, I left cali my entire life because I couldnt support myself and two kids off my income alone. I left to Georgia where I could live off my savings. Man, I even tried to get government support, but they would only give me a few hundred, it wasnt enough to cover all expenses. So I left went to GA, lived off savings. My hearing for unemployment is tomorrow. Do you think that I had probable cause to leave my job? Do you think I will receive benefits? Man, I cant wait till this is over, I want to keep the faith, but I dont want to be let down either if I believe I will than I should right, is that what faith does?

  1. No, you left your job voluntarily.
  2. You can only get unemployment if you left your employment through no fault of you own. If you quit then the answer is no unemployment for you. Why don't you try looking for work- it pays better than both welfare and unemployment.
  3. Don't count on it. Your claim will still be through CA since you haven't worked in GA. Since you have been "living off your savings" I don't think you are actually pursuing employment either, which is a requirement.
  4. Usually if you quit a job you are not eligible for unemployment. One usually gets that for being laid off because of downsizing, lack of work, seasonal jobs, etc. And once you are on unemployment, if you do get it, you must be actively seeking full time employment I wouldn't count on it, and start looking for a job just in case. (Never rely 100% on this, even if you do get it, sometimes they can screw you on it. I was laid off once and instead of giving me a certain amount like before they stretched out my weeks getting it and lowered my amount)
  5. You could not get unemployment, you quit your job. They don't care why you left just that you did. You could probably get welfare or something like that.
  6. Sorry but the rules are specific, you can't just quit a job or get fired.
  7. in most states, if you leave your job voluntarily, you'll receive no benefits. you were probably denied government support because you had a bunch of money in savings (they DO take that in to account). do i think you had probable cause for leaving your job? no. you could have looked for a better job and kept that job until you found one....or ....once you got to georgia, you could have gotten a job. some income is better than none. had you obtained a job, you wouldn't have had to use a lot of your savings. just enough to cover what you didn't have.
