Federal Job Question?
Does anyone know what is the job title called for the passport inspector at the airport when you enter United State? Do they belong to Homeland Security Department or Immigration Department? It seems like the type of job that I am looking for. Try many government job site but failed to find it. I tried Custom Agent, Passport Inspector, and Immigration Officer, they all come out false. - Customs and Border Protection Officer... U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Check out: http://www.cbp.gov/
- These are referred to as U.S. Customs & Border Protection Officers (CBPO's). Back in 2003 when the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was created, U.S. Customs, U.S. Border Patrol, Immigration (INS) and Agriculture came together under one official agency, U.S. Customs & Border Protection. So to answer your question again, they are known as Customs & Border Protection Officers (CBPO's) and they do fall under the Department of Homeland Security, along with Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Federal Air Marshals (FAMS), the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
- Homeland Security Department, Immigration has nothing to do with that. Also, the homeland security Dept. is not only the passport it is for all position because they will rotate.
