What do you all think of the nanny state culture?
Where do you think we should draw the line on where we need to take responsabilty for things like our health (obesity smoking, etc) and atitudes towards education, employment, benefits and anti social behaviour (in all ages not just children) and where the government should do their bit?

- The government should make information and treatment available and affordable to everyone. Then it's up to us to lead a healthy lifestyle.

- The British Government has taken it on itself to keep us all in a state of perpetual childhood.
- We've got to get everyone to see past what the Governments mates at the BBC and at the Rupert Murdoch Empire - especially "The Sun" newspaper - are saying and get them to actually look whats going on in the World. Vote these pathetic tossers (who cant wait to sell us out to a European superstate) out. All these new Laws are coming straight from Europe..... People who were still our Deadliest Enemy's in our old peoples life times.
- I think individuals' rights to live as they choose should be respected but NOT if they are negatively affecting others. The indoor smoking bans are good, because a smoker cannot control where his smoke goes or who else's lungs he or she is poisoning, for example. I wish they were not allowed to smoke on the sidewalk in front of businesses here either, because now I have to hold my breath all the way down the sidewalk too many times.
- Great question. I think the goverment should guide and provide information and not bail out people. The same goes for businesses that rely on goverment bailing them out with workers taxes and letting the rich slide with tax benefits and priviliges that regular folks don't get. The republicans are the worst at this giving huge tax breaks to big companies and paying the rich people huge salaries while paying workers only minimum wage.

- Nanny's are great for sex. Unconditional sex is the holy path to god and transcendence Sex is a time machine everyone can participate in, don't discriminate people for wanting sex or teaching it to others. Live, love and laugh. As for anti-social behavior its how most were conceived most likely. Society has archaic values and prudish laws not to be taken seriously by anyone, Throw the christians to the lions that's what the romans did to rid themselves of those who saw sex as bad. Maybe its time again or history to repeat itself. Religion is like a used condom only one place it belongs, in the trash.
- I am so sorry to say that I think your question is far too complicated for the size,scope,and format of this particular forum.Many things need to be changed. You can become the person that CAUSES some or maybe all of these changes to materialize as a reality of the future! You should draw a great deal of satisfaction from your efforts in this area. The REWARDS of your efforts may not be as great as you would hope for them to be,,,but great satisfaction sometimes comes with this price tag attached.
