Do u think other jobs in the fed gov besides being the pres should apply the same natural born rule as a preq?
Basically, would you feel more secure as an American if certain other federal jobs had the natural born citizen rule in place as a prereq. like the one as to be president of the USA?

- I'm not entirely in favor of that rule to begin with. America is a country that is all about immigration and new lives. At least, it used to be. Apparently now it is about border patrol and killing all people that don't live here already.
- I think Senators and Congressmen should be natural born also. I mean, isn't the third in line the Speaker of the House? What if it's Arnold Schwarzenegger? Is the rule bypassed or is he?
- Sure, why not? Let's have border guards who can't speak Spanish and have no understanding of the culture. Spanish is not English spoke in code. Spanish is Spanish. It has been proven, time and time again, that policing is much more effective when poeple are policed by their own folk. I'm Canadian. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police used to be a whites-only, male-only outfit. Our federal police force is much more effective when native constables police Aboriginal communities, and when immigrant constables police immigrant neighbourhoods. Public administration, in any goverment department, is best done by government employees who represent the people to whom they provide service. What you are really saying is that you would feel more "secure" with someone familiar in government offices. Well--so would the immigrants--who (upon becoming citizens) are just as American as you are.
