Is there a difference between State Government job and a Federal Gvt job?

Do they both mean that it's a Government Job ? and you work for the Gvt?

  1. Well, if you work for the state, you work for the local state government. If you work for the Federal government, then you work for the national government. You work for a government either way, and it's a government job either way, but one is for the whole country, and the other is just for your state.
  2. yes different pay scales and rules and applying
  3. Civil service is civil service; you can hop from one job to the other. The only difference is the color of the money. Federal pay checks from a different source than state pay checks.
