Any helpful hints for this letter? thanks. It's rather long, so mat take a few minutes to get it all posted. Dear Mr. Rasmussen, I’m writing in regard to a letter I sent you notating several instances in which your new Washington Branch Manager, David Manthei, has acted in a grossly inappropriate manner. In fact, Mr. Manthei has violated federal employment laws including, but not limited to, asking direct specific questions about my marital status and questioning the validity of restrictions my doctor has placed me under due to my current high risk pregnancy - going so far as to ask me if I really thought I would have a job with Rasmussen Equipment after delivering my twins. There have been several other instances of blatant discrimination against women. I thoroughly enjoy working for Rasmussen. I love every aspect of my job, be it conversing with customers over the phone, interacting with Salt Lake employees, or dealing with customers face to face. I feel that all the Branch 2 employees get along very well, with a relationship akin to family. I love working in this type of atmosphere. It has truly been a pleasure to come in to work each morning, and difficult to leave each night, until recently. Mr. Manthei has gone out of his way to alienate the employees of the Washington Branch. I have seen this in the way he talks down to the mechanics, in the way he orders Jim about, and in the way he requires the administrative assistant to perfom menial housekeeping tasks on a daily basis including but not limited to sweeping the floors nightly before leaving. These tasks are done regularly by a commercial cleaning service. When the cleaning service is in the office to do the tasks they have been hired to do, Mr. Manthei stands silently over them no matter where they are or what they are doing. The first week Mr. Manthei worked here, he called the team leader of the cleaning crew into Kerry’s office and interrogated her to the point that she refuses to ever allow her crew to return. Our account has been given to a different crew. There have been instances in which Mr. Manthei has behaved oddly with customers. Lorin, who is with R&W , came into the office recently to order some parts for one of his company’s machines. After finishing his business with Jim, Lorin started toward the door of the office to return to his vehicle. Mr. Manthei hurried up to him, clapped his hand on Lorin’s shoulder and said, “When they mess up, and they will, you come to ME and I’ll take care of it.” I am increasingly disturbed with the progression of events I have witnessed. Most recently, Mr. Manthei told Jim that we do not handle customers in the order of arrival, or phone calls in the order they are received. We are to handle customers according to Mr. Manthei’s direction of importance on a daily basis. However, Mr. Manthei immediately passes customer phone calls to Jim or a mechanic. Every customer that walks through the door is directed to Jim regardless of what the customer needs. All phone messages relating to a customer call are given to Jim. There is no coherent direction from Mr. Manthei. I look forward to any questions or comments you may have for me at this point. Also, I am including a copy of the original letter I sent, in the event you have not yet received it. Sincerely, **okay. red editing pen time. bring it on.**
