Is the government SOLELY responsible for the employment of the population that is able to work?

- The gov't has no responsibilility. If there are job openings, they will be filled, the gov't has no say in this. What, is the gov't gonna force a car company to make twice as many cars it can sell just so people have a job? Gov't has very limited influence in jobs, as the Constitution prescribes.
- No not even partially. We are a capitalist economy. The private sector creates most jobs and creates national wealth. Govt. creates jobs to perpetuate itself and regulate (tax) the rest of the economy.
- In Communist states, yes, but other than that, no. There aren't any governments that currently do this. Even in China, which is the worlds largest proclaimed Communist state, the vast majority of the jobs out there are done through private sector. All governments INFLUENCE the job market, but no government on the face of planet earth is solely responsible for the employment rate
