Fema Employment

What steps should the government take to ensure full employment?

Public Comments

  1. They won't. Full employment is bad for businesses because in order to attract people into less desirable jobs The Bosses have to offer better wages, more security etc. Bosses don't like that because higher wage bills eats into their profit margins. And the Government are very concerned with pleasing The Bosses. One thing they could do is close our borders and stop the flood of EU labour. Force employers to invest in British workers. Provide funded training opportunities for the young and unskilled. But they will never do this. After all, unskilled minimum wage earners and those who can't find a job will be dependent on Government handouts and more likely to vote Labour. And bosses whose profit margins are high are also more likely to vote Labour. Full employment doesn't benefit the Government.
  2. Give all the freeloaders work to do for their money. Plenty of litter in the streets to pick up and drains to clear. In fact they can even clear up after any vandalism. They may learn to respect the working man a little more.
  3. 1. take away unemployment and welfare benefits for able-bodied Americans 2. sit back, open a beer and watch all the lazy bums finally go back to work
  4. Well, you can never get full employment because try as you may, some people just don't like to work and some are too ill to work. But, government should take steps to make sure that everyone who wants a job (and all those who are able bodied whether they want to work or not) can get a job. Congress will have to create an economic plan that fosters job growth. This usually means tax cuts but I think we are in too much debt to cut taxes right now.
  5. Cancel the trade agreements and start a Manhattan style project for alternative energy.
  6. NONE not the governments job, and they would mess it up. A strong economy helps move to full employment. A strong economy is the result of LOW taxes and minimal government regulation
