- Join the Army! -That's a government Job.
- You pick an area of concentration for your work (communications, human resources, IT management/design, public policy, forest management, whatever), you study towards that area of concentration, getting an undergraduate degree and then a Master's, and along the way, you get internships and volunteer work that relate to what it is you want to do for the government, both to acquire practical experience and to make connections for future employment. Then, when you are qualified, you start applying for jobs: www.usajobs.gov/
- Depends on where you live. Is there a high demand? In an area like DC it wouldn't be as hard to get a government job as it is in other areas of the United states because other places do not have as many government jobs and when the announcement opens up there are only a few positions available. I know several agencies in particular that are really hiring throughout the US and those are Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security and Defense Finance and Accounting services. If you don't have a degree but experience take an entry level job to get your foot in the door. Most agencies will pay for your college should you decide to go to school.
- Good lord don't join the army! You want Air Force.
