Leaving a county job for a federal job with Homeland Security?
I've only been with the county for four months, but I have a meet and greet for a federal job. The pay is very similiar. Is a federal job that much better? I would feel bad leaving so soon but if the opportunity is better then I would. The new job is with the Department of Homeland Security.

- A federal job will probably give more opportunities for advancement as well as federal benefits. However, I would check out some the perks before making my decisions. By perks, I mean things such as traveling, expense account, car, allowances, etc..
- You may have better retirement options
