How do you get a federal job with without competitive status?
Does being a militaryspouse of an active duty service member give any preference for federal jobs? I have heard several things and do not know for sure. If not, how can I obtain a federaljob with out any preference?

- Most federal jobs are either open to US citizens or to those with competive status or belonging to a specialized group such as military spouses. Spouses of active duty can usually apply to to competive service vacancies when they relocate due to a change in duty station. Be sure to search all vacancies and contact the agency for specifics for any job that interests you.
