Does anyone know if they will extended federal unemployment?
I have been on unemployment for a few months. I am trying very hard to find a job but at my last job, I was there for 7 years and made $40,000 usd a year. I was in sales and now since the market is so down, I cannot expect to find employment with that type of salary. Does anyone know if the government is going to extend unemployment benefits?

- Move to Australia. We have a skills shortage and are about to up the migration quota and we dont have any time limit for unemployment. You may even get someone to pay for your trip.
- I doubt that it will be extended. There has been a push to get the unemployment rates down, and administration has found that it's easier to push people off unemployment benefits than it is to address the problems associated with it. If you noticed, the unemployment rate isn't how many people are unemployed, but how many people are receiving unemployment benefits. Push them off the unemployment roll, and the unemployment rate magically decreases. It's like magic! <shudder>
