Are government jobs such as municipal supposed to be stress free and pay well?

If so are all postions in city stress free if not which ones are easy ones to consider?

1. Government jobs supposedly pay wages that are competitive with those in the private sector. They are not stress-free, since they involve the same stresses as any other jobs where one must deal with the public and solve their problems. If you want easy, use your imagination. Even the city workers who mow the grass in the city parks are subject to occasional harassment and abuse by the public!
2. I had a municipal job. I worked in the teacher payroll department in a LARGE CITY. We worked overtime every other week to meet payroll deadlines. To say that this was stress-free was a joke. We also had to adjust salaries to meet teachers correct level of experience and education.
3. there is no such thing as a stress free job......sorry and no one ever gets paid enough !
