Fema Employment

ex felon chef looking for casino employment?

im 28, when i was 18 i made a poor decision and let the wrong people in my car, with quite a bit of stolen stuff in there bags. i knew what was in there and made a poor choice. we went out that night, i got into a car accident and wound up getting busted for the stuff in my car. i didnt go to court till i was 19, took a plea deal so i wouldnt have to do time (never arrested again, never did time, nothing violent on my record), and went from there. i proceeded to become a sous chef downtown, as well as for whole foods and worked for a professional football team for 4 years. i recently moved to las vegas and cant find work anywhere. i would really like to get a job at the casino cooking, good pay and benefits, but i dont think i will get hired. im currently looking into the federal bonding program. does anyone have any advice for me to finding a job in las vegas? i dont want to move back east, i dont want to flip burgers at mcdonalds and i will pass a drug test. local input would please

  1. Since it has been ten years and you have been clean that long I don't think you will have a problem. I wish you the best of luck.
  2. I worked at a casino before, as long as you are honest you shouldn't have a problem.
  3. If it was a felony you plead too, don't count on getting into any casino job. if it was a misdemeanor that you plead to, make sure to state it on your application as well as when the incident occured. and write down how you have matured, there are so many restaurants everyday, put in 5 applications, and go swimming. every other day, call back to make sure the manager looked at your application. good luck
