Fema Employment

I never got a form mailed to me stating the qulaifications for the irs rebate check, what doesa that mean ?

I just want a clearer understanding because i dont want to expect something and then get let down. Because my largest income was from self-employment and my total amount from federal taxes (refund) was only 1683.00 and majority was from the child tax credit from my daughter, which was 1100.00 by itself, any thoughts on this?

  1. AGAIN, a tax refund IS NOT INCOME.
  2. You're not qualified to get anything. Sorry.
  3. The letter was sent out to the names/addresses on file for 2006. The rebate is based on what you file for 2007. Since the only way you got a refund was with ACTC and EIC, it appears you would be getting $600.
  4. Did you file taxes in the previous year? May mean nothing.
  5. The fact that you didn't get the first letter is meaningless. They're still sending them out -- my neighbor got his yesterday but I still have not. Any rebate is based upon your tax LIABILITY before credits and (maybe) qualifying income. The amount of any refund is meaningless to the calculations. 6. Your refund doesn't enter into whether you are eligible or not. Net self employment income is eligible income, so if you had at least $3000 for that, or for that plus any W-2 income you had, you'd be eligible. That would be line 7 plus line 12 on your 1040 - if that adds up to at least $3000, you should get at least $300. Not getting the first letter has no effect on whether you are eligible. Maybe you didn't have enough income the year before, or maybe it just got lost in the mail - in any case, don't worry about it, it doesn't make any difference.
