FREE 32-Page Report:

Government employment was up 38,000 in February, is this how conservatives create jobs?

63,000 + 38,000 = 101,000 jobs lost without the added government jobs. justagirl - You have my vote. Lebowsi - I'm pretty sure all federal agencies are run by republican apointees. gcbtradi... - Government spending is up 52% in the past seven years. Who was in charge then? Charlie Bravo - I agree.

  1. Maybe I should look into government employment. Maybe I'll even run for Congress so I can get the healthcare plan. :p
  2. Conservatives? Like the conservative congress we have now? Oh yea sorry, that's a democratic Congress we have. Better get your facts straight, or it might make you look stupid. Damn.. too late.
  3. If they were down 38,000 you would cry about that and ask if that is how they destroy jobs. Lame on your part. Conservatives? Like the democrat controlled congress and senate?
  4. A government check is a government check. Not much difference between a government job and welfare...it's all living off the taxpayer. *you sound like a conservative in your question.... but adopting a conservative position and claiming it is liberal is disingenuous. You know the liberals thrive on building big government bureaucracy. *the war on terror has been very expensive...it is emergency expense, and not a policy of creating permanent bureaucracy and entitlement
  5. All republicans spew crap about small governments but always increase the size and the budget to match.Borrow and spend is there hidden agenda.
  6. ...yup---and I thought they were for a "smaller" government. conservatism died with William F Buckley----there are no more true conservatives anymore.
  7. Conservatives? Who are these conservatives of which you speak. Last I checked democrats were in control of congress. It's not Bush creating these jobs. Your democratic congress has the purse strings and control of what jobs get created and funded. But good try.
  8. Homeland security, first people grip when the Mexican are stealing jobs, then they grip we the government hires border portal. Hell if we removed 90% of the people working for the government we could be a booming China, we don't want that now do we. Terrorist Iraq Iran Thank God for President Bush and I think he should remain our president until we find another real American to replace him.
  9. Wahoo! A Democratic Congress throwing the money around.
  10. Last week, President Bush rejected charges that the war in Iraq has hurt the US economy. He addressed the issue during an interview with Ann Curry on the Today Show. ANN CURRY: Some Americans believe that they feel they’re carrying the burden because of this economy. PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: Yeah, well— ANN CURRY: The economy, they say, is suffering because of this war. PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: I don’t agree with that. ANN CURRY: You don’t agree with that? It has nothing to do with the economy, the war, the spending on the war? PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: I don’t think so. I think, actually, the spending on the war might help with jobs. ANN CURRY: Oh, yeah? PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: Yeah, because we’re buying equipment, and people are working. I think this economy is down because we built too many houses. source: http://www.democracynow.org/2008/2/29/exclusive_the_three_trillion_dollar_war It is dramatic how Bush's economy works. Hiring people by the government is also a way to reduce unemployment, but it is not the kind of stimulus the economy really needs. The financial crises is dramatic. Price of Oil Reaches New High; Dollar Sinks to New Low In economic news, the price of oil hit a new high Thursday, nearly reaching $106 a barrel. The record came as the dollar struck a new low against the Euro. Defaults on Home Mortgages Reach Record High Meanwhile, defaults on home mortgages have reached another all-time high. The Mortgage Bankers Association say nearly eight percent of all home loans were past due or in foreclosure at the end of last year. The Federal Reserve also announced that Americans’ percentage of equity in their homes has fallen below 50 percent for the first time since 1945. Credit Card Debt Approaches $800 Billion In other economic development, a new report from the Center for American Progress warns that a rise in credit card defaults could produce an economic fallout on par with the mortgage crisis. Credit card debt reached a record high of nearly $800 billion last November. Approximately 35 million credit card customers can no longer afford to make more than the minimum payment every month. http://www.democracynow.org/2008/3/7/headlines This is pretty explosive financial news. BTW how do you count the fact that 1 out of 100 Americans are in jail ? the largest prison population compared to the entire population?
