I was wondering if I will receive all my .state and federal tax back , I am a full time student?
Im 18 Live in Massachusetts Full Time High School Student Part Time Job I made 5981.04 last year Federal Taken Out 371.00 State Taken Out 277.01 Claimed as a dependent on my parents taxes TurboTax online says i will receive 307.00 for federal is this accurate or am i entitled to the full thing or more????

The government gives you a standard deduction of $5,350, so in your case, you are only taxed on $631.00..and lets say roughly federal income tax is around in your case 12%, so for fun say you should have paid around $75 in federal tax... That sounds about right based on what turbotax said was your refund.
- Probably, this is correct. And, you should get most of state withheld back, too.
- Sounds about right. The first $5350 you made for the year isn't taxed at the federal level - and on the other $631 you will pay 10% - you get the rest refunded to you. Being a full time student doesn't mean you don't pay tax - it depends on how much you made, and you made enough to pay a little bit of tax.
