Can I get the Canada Employment Amount for my U.S employment income?
I was working from Feb - Nov, 2007 in U.S for a U.S company. Now I returned to Canada. I'm going to file 2007 Canadian tax return. I saw "Canada Employment Amount -- line 363" in the Federal tax form. Is anyone out there knowing whether I can claim this amount from my U.S income? If you have similiar experience before, please let me know. Thanks.

- As long as you claimed income on either line 101 or 104 of your T1 tax return form. If you worked in the US on a W2 you should be ok, because you'll still have to pay Canada EI + CPP. If you worked on a 1099, that's self-employment income and the CEA would not apply.
