Food Stamps in California. *only non-rude answers please*?

What are the qualifications to be able to recieve food stamps in California? I am moving there and I think that I may be eligible. Thanks And a few other details: I have a JOB! I work full time AND part time AND I am a college student FULL TIME and in MY state I qualify for them if I am living on my own. So don't be a jerk and tell me to get a freakin job. I am one of those people WORKING their way thru college. Sorry if I was just looking for a little help. Ya know sometimes it is just a little difficult to make ends meet! ALSO I don't get free college grants. I didn't qualify thanks to my father and his making too much money. But since I am under 24 years old, I still have to put my parents on my FAFSA therefore the government thinks that my parents are helping pay for my college. WHICH THEY AREN'T! But for some odd reason they still get to claim me on their taxes. The point is, I would like to know the qualifications for food stamps in California. Thank you!!

1. I don't really know how it works, but don't be down on yourself! Government assistance is there for people who REALLY need it! You're going to school! You do what you can! And that is respectable.
2. Are you illegal? That helps. Seriously.
3. If you can't afford to eat AND go to school then you need to decide which is more important. Maybe you could cut back on a few classes so college won't be so expensive. I have read the Constitution of the State of california nad can find no mention of "food stamps" so the state has no auhtority to force your neighbors to feed you.
