I have a question regarding non-residents and the tax that they have to pay?

I came to the USA on a J1 visa and I worked at 2 different jobs. I've already filed my 2006 tax return and had no problems with getting my refund. For 2007 however, my earnings were more than the cap of $3400 - does this mean that I cannot claim a refund and will have to pay even more tax than that was already withheld? In total, my earnings were $4182, my federal tax withheld $360, and my Vermont state tax withheld $90. Please help?

  1. You will owe about $80 in federal tax. Your withholdings were more than that, so you will get a small refund. I have no idea if enough was withheld for Vermont.
