As for Oklahoma's recently passed "immigration" laws, they are currently being challenged in the Supreme Court. For, you see, only the FEDERAL government can make and enforce immigration law. States cannot do it. It will be overturned just like every other state-passed law has been.
There is nothing remotely racist about post. The only racists are the ones who think illegal immigrants are of one race...they come in shapes, sizes and colors. BJ Nothing can really be done besides going after employers. This is something the states CAN enact laws to address. If you hire illegal labor in the State of Texas you get a $10,000 fine. If the government truly wanted to address illegal immigrants they would target businesses. And this is one of the issues where the federal government is refusing to enforce its laws so the states are left to deal with the mess. When they try to address this issue, they get hung up in courts wasting more municipal and state tax revenue on.....dealing with illegals. I am hispanic and I know for a fact the illegal immigration issue is not a racial issue. There are those who make it a race issue on both sides of the fence though....such as BJ. AND has anyone told these "illegal immigrant" rights groups that if they would work with the illegal immigrants on uniting for a better way of life in their "native" countries.....there wouldn't be a need to immigrate here. How about LaRaza, LULAC, et al start grass roots organizations in Central and Southern America to petition those national governments to solve the issues that "force" them to come here? Because it wont work there. It works here because its known throughout the world that we dont enforce our laws.....so its easier to fight here than it is there.
